Hand Arts

"Hello everyone and each one of you!! Welcome!! I've been reading you for a week, you're unique. I learn new things from you. Grateful for so much. Very happy to share with you one of my handicrafts.. writing is harder than making them 馃槃

Today I finished a Tree of Life, that's what the traditional wire trees are called.

A coworker taught me how to make them a long time ago and it wasn't hard for me to understand their instructions to carry it out. I also wanted to teach others, but without success, as they've given up.

The main reason for their interest in learning to make them themselves is that they don't want to pay what I charge for the trees (the one in the photo I sell for 50,000 guaranies, less than $9) 馃槖

The trees I make completely by hand come in different sizes and varied colors. I use beads, sequins, small stones, buttons, yarns, and in my mind, I'm planning to make them with coins too. There's a small coin made of a lighter material than the other coins in my country, I'm talking about the 50 guaranies coin... nobody wants them, I find them everywhere, and I have an interesting collection.

I think I've made over 500 trees in total since I've been making them for as long as I can remember. I've made many trees as gifts, and I remember that during the pandemic in 2020, I dedicated myself to handicrafts and was able to help my husband with an extra income 馃挵.

The bases of my trees are the most varied, and on one occasion, I used small coffee cups that turned out beautiful. I don't have any photos of them, I sold them like hotcakes (I ran out of my collection of cups, it was during the pandemic), and I've made recycled bases from cans, bottles, and what the world discards.

Well, I talked enough for you to know me a bit better.
See you soon!!

It's always TODAY. And it's a gift
