This is a great community to write about my pets, and remember them.
I can't live in one house with a human, but I can share my place with a dog. Not too big, just around 10 kilograms. I feel like, you don't just go out to choose a dog. Or a cat, but I need a dog, to keep me moving. But, to my standards, the pet chooses you, not the other way around.
I need a dog, literally to keep me moving, and to keep me company of course. Living alone, with an ego too big to love any human for longer than a month, to love a pet is a great substitute. Egos exist only among the own species. That goes for animals just as well. Among dogs, dogs clearly have an ego. Ego simply disappears as soon as you're interacting with any other species.

Anyway, I needed a dog to keep me company, but mainly to keep me moving. So Dundy came into my life, when he was nine months old, in October 2002. I remember I picked him up from a single mother of a young child, who had no job, but got a job, and didn't have time for the dog anymore. At walking distance, about a quarter mile.

The next day, we went for our first walk by daylight. First thing Dundy did, I shouldn't have let him loose of course, but I did, and he fell straight through the duckweed. Of course I was there, immediately. By his scruff, which he still had a lot of. (I don't know the word; scruff?). It was October, about 12 degrees. We went ahead for the walk.

Now, let me show you Dundy!

That's the picture I still use everywhere on the internet, wherever I got a profile.

Of course there are many photographs, but I don't have them in order. They're everywhere, some here, some there, most of them on an old harddrive probably.

My mother's cat was with us for a week or two, while she went on vacation somewhere. Dundy was very expressive. You could see exactly how he felt, and not only by his tail.
After he first went to the grooming salon - he was over a year old, he was all hair - he looked into the PC casing, which was a mirror effectively, and - obviously - he recognized himself. He made a cry like: "Oh my God, am I gonna look like this now? Forever? Oh my God!!!" "Húúúûûhhh!" Really, I know he recognized himself in the mirror. We all have our gifts. I can read upside down inverted, because I got phenomenal spatial awareness. I can picture an entire solar system in my mind. Dundy recognized himself in the mirror.

My mother had been building campers from vans since I could barely walk. As soon as I could walk, we went all over Europe. In the 1970's and the 1980's. And again this century. We took Dundy everywhere. Half of Europe is his territory. La Plaza de la Victoria, in Málaga, where I lived with Dundy for nine months, I call it La Plaza al Dundy. Because that's exactly what it is. It's La Plaza Al Dundy!

I think this picture was shot in Vichy. He had just taken a leak there, before he noticed the cat in the window.

Dundy was an incredible dog. I was very much attached to him. He was provocative. I always told him: "Do not provoke!" So, you can feel where this is going. He once provoked one dog too many. It was in February on the 25th. 2013. It still hurts.

One week later I happened to be in the one place in Europe where they sell the strongest benzodiazepines, which I could really use at the time. Because, coincidences are not coincidental. The universe takes care of us. If your best mate just died, you get provided the stuff you need. That's how life works. Unless you believe something different, then it works differently.

Most of Dundy's pictures are on old disks I should still copy. I have all the stuff I need, I just need to do it some time. This would be a good opportunity.

I think this article is long enough for now. I don't like to read myself. So, I should keep it short, for people like me.

Part 2 will hopefully show some more pictures of Dundy, and I'll introduce Dundy's successor, Bonito.

This is Bonito. The picture was taken just before I left for my trip to Lanzarote.

One more thing, especially if you lost a pet, but even if you haven't, I strongly recommend to read this poem. It's called Rainbow Bridge.

Thanks a lot for reading!

Kind regards, Miqlos
