Hello SplinterFam!
We have had lots of big news about Splinterlands this week, from the huge tournament for the 6th anniversary, to lots of cool info released in the recent town hall that really peaked my interest.
New Soulbound Reward Cards
The new soulbound reward cards were announced to come out some time in the summer and will be similar to the old set which is really cool. There might not be any summoners this time though, which is probably a smart move I think.
I am really excited to see the new soulbound cards and really love the current set and have been trying to max out my collection and get the key ones that I am missing. That is quite lucky that we have the glint shop to get legendary and epic draws as we need them!
Soulbound Legendaries
Mostly I am trying to get as many legendary draws as possible to max out my favorite legendaries as my first priority. Kulu Mastermind being my favorite of them all, but the others are also pretty handy when you need them.
At 25k glints per draw for 1 legendary, they are pretty pricey and require some grinding, but they are worth it when you get the ones you want.
Kulu Mastermind
Do you have a favorite soulbound legendary?
Soulbound Card Unlocking
Once the new set is released we might get a chance to unlock our current soulbound cards and this is something that I want to be ready for. Which cards would be worth to unlock and how much would it cost?
Most likely I would also want to buy some cards if some people are selling. If it costs alot to unlock, then there could be short supply of them on the market, however many people will also have the soulbound versions of them, so maybe the demand will not be that high. How would merging soulbound to unlocked cards work?
Soulbound Epic Cards
My soulbound epic cards are not leveled up nearly enough and it is something I will need to work on once I have got the legendaries that I need. There is not enough glint to get everything that you want. Especially as you need everything at max level now.
Rare Cards
There is unlikely to be soulbound summoners in the new set which sort of makes sense when you see how low level bots have managed to cause havoc with their soulbound cards and perhaps the team will not make it so easy this time.
These soulbound summoners were great to combine with your favorite glad cards and changed the meta once the untamed set rotated out. If your account has not been active in a guild and earning those glad cards, it could be at a disadvantage.
Soulbound Summoners.
Along with the Riftwatchers set, the soulbound cards are strong colorwise and standout for each of the splinters easily. They are asthetically very pleasing to me and probably my favorite looking set that you can get. I am curious to how the new soulbound set graphics will look in comparison. We will have to wait til the end of summer to find out, but that will probably go by pretty fast.
Spot the soulbound card
The current soulbound cards have some real gems in there and have been super fun to play with. One of my favorites Musa Saline is a legendary in the water splinter. I am lucky to have recently maxed her out and she has some awesome abilities. They are, shatter to smash your opponents shield, scavenger to gain health when someone dies and dispel to remove postive effects on your opponent.
She starts with a low health score, but can grow pretty strong during the game if played right. A good counter to a Diemonshark tank. I am excited what gems the new set might throw up too.
Common Cards Not Left Out
You might think the common soulbound cards would not be so good, but they actually have a few cards that have impacted the game pretty hard and made lots of fun combinations.
Probably the standouts are Costal Sentry and Swamp Spitter changed the meta in the water deck and became a lethal combination with their double strike and repair abilities respectively.
Then Imperial Knight and Drybone Barbarian packed some punch in the life deck to buff up the tank capabilities there. In the earth splinter, Fungus started causing havoc with the martyr ability buffing cards adjacent over and over on some game rulesets.. ah that was a blast when that first dropped. These probably wont be worth to unlock with their high supply and low cost, but it will be worth to make sure you have them maxed out if possible.
What do you think of the current soulbound card set? Which is your favorite?
Thanks for reading.
