The summer is practically over but the summer festivals and parades in Germany keep on going and today's Beer Saturday is from none other than "Die Biermacher" (The Beer Maker).
I was attending the festival and the brewery was kind enough to be handing out a free beer called Pfungstädter.
The beer is a pilsner beer and tasted particularly good because it was free. Ahem, I mean because it was well made. lol. Most german beers follow the Rheinheitsgebot so have a similar taste and are made to a high standard. This beer was no different.
This portion of beer was quite small, so to fully appreciate the taste and provide you with an accurate report, I took another one. The color was very pleasing and the beer tasted very fresh.
Other variants of the beer can be seen on this lorry that was in the parade.
As far as I could tell, Die Biermacher is a keen camper. The brewery was founded in 1831 and has a horseshoe as part of its logo. Despite its old age I think the beer is not so well known outside of South Hessen.
The next beer was doing a Guinness impression and I considered lodging a formal complaint. lol
The party was in full gear, here is a short video that I made.
Thanks for reading.
