My take is direct and instant messaging is an absolute must on the hive blockchain. Unfortunately attempts have been made on these type systems and they haven't been favorable. I dont think the important part is so much about just putting it on the chain as much as it's important for hive branding.

For example many of us use discord to communicate. We should be using our own products and services. It doesn't necessarily have to be on the chain for it to be useful and effective for the hive community. I think another mistake is that everything has to exist on the blockchain.

I don't think thats true. First i don't think everything works better on the blockchain. I remember one dpos system had a platform you got paid to chat and the chat messages were directed to your comment section and it was upvoted from the interface. Which was a chatroom basically like discord.

It didn't catch fire and it was kinda annoying as it took like 30 seconds for every comment you posted to post. So i dont believe you need it on the chain in every case. However i do think the product branding is important and right now over 90% of our communication and direct messaging seems to happen on discord which i think is not smart for the community.

Bitcoin MYK in association with BBD coin is not a tribe. It's not meant to be as it functions better as a money within a social network framework. So rewards pool as such would be a problem for us. The site does have a instant message system and dm, chatrooms and users are paid in the second layer token. So i think thats convenient with the upside of not annoying blockchain transfer rates.

However the trade off obviously is the communications would not be secure or decentralized in that manner. It would however be better than what we're doing now using discord and third party systems. So this as well goes back to efficiency. For example i can place videos on the blockchain. That doesn't mean that i'm going to get the same performance out of video on the chain than video off chain. Now unfortunatley to a video creator this is the most important part if you spend 9 hrs editing a video you're probably going to be more concerned about the quality of your video over if it's going to be censored.

Similar if i wanna chat conveniently. I'm going to want to be able to do dm's and instant messages in speed within real time. So that's going to probably be more important than if it can be censored in that sense for direct and instant messaging. So i think a mixture can exist as well that can work especially seeing that we mostly use discord. There are chats and instant messaging platforms i believe for hive .. hive branded. however they don't get used like discord etc.,
