Yes but if we look at the facts surrounding terra luna first we have to estimate network size and value. You see it doesn't matter how good your use case in idea is if you don't have the capabiilty of obtaining a valuable network.
In addition to that. I'd argue the terra luna use cases weren't really that great. it was nothing really happening on terra luna. The owner had already created several failed similar projects. Short summary let's say the us dollar had only a few hundred thousand active users like terra luna had.
it was only about 300k active accounts per month. Then that would mean the us dollar would be quite unstable. It certainly wouldn't be able to maintain a great amount of returns with baloney defi projects such as terra luna had.
So the point i'm making it doesn't matter how fancy the creation and manipulation of algorithimic stable coins are your network value is corelational to your network size. So they need to grow before they make overcomplex systems.
Also when i speak of use cases i mean good ones that create demand. The way demand works is need is fulfilled. Let's think of some things you need. You need air, energy, water shelter. Yes you could need entertainment but not everyone needs speculation. The 20% returns that terra luna was granting through their defi products was not a good use case but unsustainable speculation. That's not what i'd consider a good use case.
I feel hbd is on a similar path only reason it doesn't collapse is because one we can't withdraw our money when we want from hive and two the returns have been low enough not to cause big issue but that also has caused less demand.
Projects like mines in theory solve the demand issue and i won't get into the mechanics of how right now it's information sources for that but i will say demand and metcalfes law which speaks of networks corelational to value our project fulfills that. The mistake people make is when you create economies and these products you don't create them based on hype cycles. You create them based on people will need them, lol. It would be dumb for me to create a business its likely most people won't use. Or one where competition is so beyond me that i'll be of very little significance but that's all they do.
Now what helped terra luna was venture capitalist are still playing a game of winners and losers. In other words the venture capitalist funds don't really care about growing these products. They are more like corporate raiders and will give you 100-200 million to pump you up and jump out leaving everyone holding the bag. Pantera sold 80% of their luna holdings.. most vc's hold for about 5 years. i don't even think they held for 2 years lol.
So i' don't want to write a paper but i'd just ask you to really take a moment and inspect what you call a good use case. What's your metric for determing what is a good use case and what is a hype cycle. To me a good use case is i need to use it.. bitcoin myk rather people use it or not they still need to use it which means they eventually will. Something like terra luna i never bought it nor ever had to use it.
