i have to disagree with your opinion on bitcoin. I think that's the issue there where many of you mistake this type of opportunistic speculation and gambling as useful.
What i mean is that you stated the value in bitcoin comes from the security of the network. Which is a false presumption. Bitcoin has suffered several inflation bugs and in the latest incarnation it would have been catastrophic if not caught by a bitcoin cash developer
You can look all this up and research it. Now my question then becomes why would bitcoin be seen valuable and more secure when ethereum itself hasn't suffered any of that. if we're basing this on those statistics and not just this wild desire to speculate and make money without bringing value to the world. it is an illness in thought i believe that only requires one come to terms with it.
However my conversation will prove it is in fact just that. Burning and wasting energy based on a false presumption of the security of bitcoin is a type of lunacy that could only come from a misguided right wing corporatist mindset that is not substantiated or validated. it is just wrong.
Yes it would make more sense to fork to a more useful and environmentally safe bitcoin. As you and i both know whether the claims of environmental damage is true or not it wouldn't matter to wild opportunist corporatist speculative minds that don't care about anything else.. We know this because this is the same mindset that would dump toxic waste in our own kids backyards to make a buck. That's some of the mindset that persist in cryptocurrency to make a buck.
Now the greatest system builders and economic minds in human history and i think i did a video on this. Pointed out that the best way to make money is always going to be in social responsiblity where you make money and profits.
Profits above all.. any means necessary makes people sick. It also makes the individual a sick person. That is because to make money from crypto even if you consider these defi products that make money based on speculation of the value of a speculative device.. based on a speculative device based on another speculative device in which none have value in the progression is not only illogical it's irresponsible in the building of such systems.
What we get as an argument in return is the idea of a consensus on the value which his incorrect. that's similar to me saying that we both agree to gamble in las vegas and i say this casino chip you purchased is valuable because people buy it.. But do you see how ridiculous that is?
To say something has value just because some nutcase is convinced to buy it although the likelihood of it having value for him at the end of the day is true? That's why we call it gambling and not investing you understand?
So if just buying poker chips means holding value then you're correct value is created by such things. I believe within intrinsic value of a thing where lies true value. In the sense of thousands of people winning big in vegas each year and millions losing.. That is the comparison.
Now bitcoin is a problem simply because it doesn't improve they believe it shouldn't which is dumb. it doesn't do anything it's just the same as around here on hive where people who seemingly earn something for them it's a valuable platform but for most people it's a waste of time.
So in systems like that.. those aren't the best systems. bitcoin is no longer the best system. it was at a particular time that doesn't exist anymore. now you need better economic systems like bitcoin myk.. ethereum and pos models aren't the best and yes they get manipulated like bitcoin does.. i mean both bitcoin and pos models are in the same boat.. bitcoin doesn't have the problems of pos but it has tremendous problems of centralization by geography, of developers, miners, exchanges and wealth.
I can write a paper on this but the bottomline is bitcoin maximalist especially are incorrect but bitcoin believers are incorrect as well. bitcoin is a stepping stone. Now one of your commentors erroneously wrote that satoshi under this system would be rich and that many don't want a bitcoin system due to that..
However your commenter is ignorant. He doesn't know satoshi nor does he know what he wants. Satoshi never sold any of his coins.. Many of his ideas about bitcoin written in the white paper sounded more like a currency. A currency has no more value at $1 than it has at $1 million. Satoshi didn't set cryptocurrency up to be risky penny stock like investments for you guys to speculate and be rich.
He set it up to be an economic system that worked for everyone. Not you guys risky speculative wetdream. None of you have any idea of what you talking about or doing around on this platform. you see .. or you don't wanna see it doesn't matter because what makes a system valuable is when it works for the most people..
To make alot of money you often times have to help alot of people. Steve Jobs made the technology that most of us use in our smartphones and every person on earth almost has the same use of this technology as everyone else. So apple is a trillion dollar company. That's not what it's like in cryptocurrency.. We don't have the same valuable use to this technology. Many of us are limited by technical aptitude at a ridiculous level.
Bitcoin may in fact in teh future began to lose it's gold like luster. .I don't think it has a choice. I think once bitcoin got away from satoshi's vision and under the misguided control of the venture capitalist and people who have no idea how an economy works besides speculation or besides being like vc's who value nothing but cooking their balance sheets and manipulated cryptocurrencies help them achieve that.
That beyond that they have no use of this technology at any level of a practical means and that's a problem. There are consequences to being on the wrong side of history and trying to make senseless ridiculous unsustainable gains in this cartoonish like manner on these platforms. That's not going to fly. Anyone and Vitalik has said this several times himself.. That relies on that just aren't smart or intelligent people.. i'm sorry but that's going to be realized sooner or later.
