"I want a universal basic income implicitly. I don't want to be a wage slave any longer. Humans in 2021 in the West should not have to be doing 50% of the work that is out there for even 2x or 3x what they are getting paid currently. Technologically, sociologically, we are beyond having these jobs being done by humans.
UBI isn't taking off because politics :( The failures of the Left are capitalized by failures on the right and nothing is allowed to change."
Yes thankyou for your thoughts. I hope you finding some use in your bbd coins. Before covid 19 and the advancements in technology and automation. The conversation about ubi was kinda like optional. UBI is very old. in modern history it's about 300 years old. Goes back to people like Thomas Paine and the citizen's dividend.
Ancient rome would give you acres of land free just for being a roman citizen. So none of this is a new concept. It's not even about just some people are lazy and they'd opt not to work and be on a permanent vacation. Now the conversation has shifted to when the economy closes down due to pandemics and when super ai creates a super mind that just makes all humanity pretty much obsolete. Which we can envision that now in a world like we have where robotics can do almost everything a human can do. It's so strange to me we even have people in tech and in crypto still going oh well everyone will become programmers and we'll get through this latest industrial revolution like the rest. Like but they never have a plan if we don't. No matter how smart the person is that says it. They still seem to be second guessing the verdict. Either that or they are like those rich people on the titantic that when the ship was sinking they were living in first class quarters. They went and got back in their beds whilst the ship was sinking lol. So perhaps they are like that.
I say that because universal basic income shouldn't even be political at this point. It should just be common sense. How you going to feed and support billions of people that are obsolete. That we don't need to work and these are suppose to be smart people lol.
Unfortunately and i gotta say this. I'm not really biased in my politics as much as i'm just biased to what makes sense. To what is common sense. The problem in crypto is that alot of the mainstream kicked alot of the crypto people off their networks. So those people came here. Now why were they kicked off the mainstream many of them? Well because you have some don't believe in science. Some are racist. So the blockchain is a refuge for them. it's a way to hide under the banner of freedom. So their political ideologies come with them.
Many are these businesses that are enslaving people and not paying people a fair wage. These are those same people here. That's why crypto resembles alot of the standard economy. The reason 87% of bitcoin is owned by only 1% of the network is not because they believe in ubi. They believe in the old system. So many are just really here to compare their crypto to fiat currency. In other words alot of what is called the right wingers are really just capitalistic people looking to make more of those fiat currencies.
They aren't trying to set the world free or in a misguided way they think they are. However at some point reality should slap them in the face that's not what they are doing. The bitcoin maximalist never thought it was a good idea to put businesses on the blockchain. if they did they wouldn't be fighting against every single altcoin out there. So alot of people in this space aren't here for freedom or even concerned about designing such systems but they are exploiting the idea to their benefit not everyone elses.
It's a reason why their distribution rates and their high levels of centralization are they way they are. So they need to accept that so they can move on to make crypto better. If they don't even accept they have this problem they never going to improve it.
"I wish we all find major success in crypto. The smallest investors are the most important ones I think even though we don't move the needles that much. Every crypto success story is a success for all of us I think because that money will be reinvested in some way and, at some level, it benefits the system"
Well to this statement this is where the smoke and mirrors come in. The smaller investor collectively is the value of the network. if you study something like metcalfe's law. A network has value based on the user base. Now what are you going to encounter more? Small investors not big investors. The problem though is the big investor generally tries to shift the network to his favor. That's easy to do in crypto right now because it's not much money. However they aren't the economic engines never will be. In fact they are often times dangerous to a network because they centralize the network in many ways. So you don't want like the big mouth investors thinking they are doing something walking around here talking trash. You don't want the justin sun types trying to control the network. in a perfect world you probably would value many small investors over just a few pockets of power and money pretending to be a decentralized network
