I look at it as if she was lucky to have you care for her, the person getting rid of them too soon would have gotten rid of her to someone else who might not have given her the love and care that you provided for her. It is heartbreaking when things happen to a pet, they are family and the loss of one hurts no less. Hugs for you @tydynrain.
