I believe things do happen for a reason, we do not know what or why they happen at the moment but sometime in the future we look back and say if this would not have happened we would have never met or if it did not happen would I still be happy or worse staying with her in misery. Maybe she will stay single and never find true love and have jealousy over the new love that you have found. Just my thoughts, best of luck to you. One more thought, some people are just mean and you are better off without them.
