When my kids were young, I let them do what they wanted in their bedroom, they were the ones who had to live in it. My oldest son liked to write things on his wall. One thing he wrote has always had meaning to me. He wrote, "You do it to yourself." I always took it as, if you are not happy, look within yourself and find why this is, only you can make things better.
