Great news for SPS holders on the last Splinterlands townhall, apparently once the battle reward switch from DEC to SPS you'll be able to burn SPS in order to get DEC. We're still missing a lot of details about how much DEC you'll be receiving per SPS, I would imagine the team will use the price ratio between the two instead of the fixed price of $0.001 per DEC.
More good news! The battle rewards will be paid out as staked SPS meaning that players won't be able to sell it immediately, it will take at least 4 weeks to power it down. Some players are not a fan of this but most long term holders of SPS are actually on board with this, me included.
The Rift Watchers pre-sale will start next month we are likely to see a lot of SPS going out of circulation because of it and on top of that players will have to keep burning SPS in order to get DEC to buy cards, packs, rent cards, etc...
This is very bullish for SPS, there's a big supply crunch incoming and the SPS from battle rewards will take some time to enter the market.
The team proved once again to be very focused on the economics of SPS and the whole game, always looking out for the best interests of the investors.
