Although writing is an artistic work it is also like unto a product that we produce and how good your product is, is not the only thing that determines its success.

There are a lot of great and exceptional writers out there that the world has never heard about. Even here on Hive, I can say there are some great writers who are superb with their craft than most of the mainstream writers we know today.

For some time now I've been ditching book reading. Reason is that I think I've read more than I needed to this year and just little of them I've really digested and acted upon.

There are plenty of gems in book reading, but application is the real deal. When it comes to reading some things written by some popular writers I realize that their products are just too common to see them as exceptional writers.

But I guess that's what the mainstream media wants.

I know you're about to say I'm now into some conspiracy about books too…well, hear me out. My take is not that reading books is bad or that some books will make you dumb in any way.

But if you take a look at the most famous books which I would say are mostly self-help and motivational books you'll see that they are just good ideas, tips, information, and advice that we know within ourselves already.

Yes, it's good to work out, good to sleep well, good to read books and also good to focus on your finances but what these books all have in common is that their information are all common and relative to one another.

Of course this is not all books you read, but with my little time in the book store this year i believe that the books with insidious information are not on the shelf. If you luckily find one it's probably going to be old, rusty and just there searching for someone who just wants to read anything.

In the past I usually search books and like to find the best ones…but recently after reading the prince I realized that a good deal of information are being passed in many of the unpopular books than the popular ones.

One book I won't enjoy reading again is subtle art of not giving a fu*k. Yes, the context of the book wasn't meant to be about not caring but when we keep seeing this as humans we tend to not just give a fuck because that's what I can recall from the book after years of reading more than 3 times.

Oops! I did mention names. Well, it's just my own personal experience. Reading the book wasn't really about learning and self-improvement alone back then, but rather to also enhance my comprehension in the English language as it's not my first language.

Books are great, but the best ones are not seen on shelves so often. I searched for the sovereign individual in every store around me, but I can't find a copy. Must've been due to its uncommon ideas and information that made it that way or that many people just don't care about it to increase its demand. I bet if I was looking for something common, I would've found it by now.

Thank Gods for YouTube, but nothing still rocks like having a physical copy at hand.

Thanks for reading. I'll get back to my audiobook now.
