You've probably heard a lot of motivational quotes that inspire us to keep at something until it works.
Go hard, grind hard, and keep going hard...
That's the mantra which I believe can be a double-edged sword to some people(not all), especially if you're just doing something so people don't call you names like - failure, lazy, lame, bit*h, simp, idiot, and all sorts of names that can sometimes be attached to people whom the world has deemed to be a quitter.
We can't all be the winners, and we can't be famous and rich. Nevertheless, we can strive for what we know we've got the potential for and keep at it rather than sticking with something we know won't work but just so we can satisfy people and say we tried we are still sticking around with the grind.
One man's food is another man's poison...
When people talk about work these days I hear them talking about it in terms of what's to be gained in terms of monetary gains. I'm not shitting on trying to get the Doug but at the same time, you can always get the Doug while on the right path than grinding away on the wrong path just because it offers more rewards in the present.
It's like the tale of the penny that doubles every day for one month and has 3 million dollars in cash at hand on the first day. If we are to choose many would be glad to accept the $3M cash. For those who haven't heard the story, taking the cash is the instinctive decision that the brain is wired to make.
However, if we are to go the dollar that doubles daily we are going to have around 10M on the last day. This is how life is when we go for what we have passion for instead of going at the money first without really having any desire for the job.
Yes, we can always have our dream come true, but if we keep doing things we don't love it only makes us farther away from what we want.
Isn't it time to quit the wrong and crowded path to follow yours?
It's a question I've been pondering myself as we got into the new month. This is also the beginning of a new quarter, so there's a need to reaccess ourselves and take charge of our destiny if we want to.
Until next time
