Applying eyeliner to the waterline is a very simple look that frames the eyes. Add a bit of mascara and lipstick, and you’re done! This is what I’ll show you in this tutorial.

Tools you’ll need:

Cotton tips
Black pencil liner
Black eyeshadow
Flat eyeshadow brush
Mascara
Lipstick

Step 1: Dry the Waterline Before Adding Eyeliner

Take a cotton tip to dry your top and bottom waterline.
This way, the eyeliner pencil will stay put, and it’s easier to apply.

Pull your lower lid down to reach the waterline and carefully swipe the water off the waterline. The same goes with the upper lid—pull the upper lid up and dry the waterline.

Step 2: Apply Eyeliner to the Top and Bottom Waterline

It’s time for the black or nude eyeliner pencil!

Make sure that the pencil eyeliner isn’t too sharp so that it will feel as comfortable as possible. You don’t want to irritate your eye on purpose!

Pull your lower lid down to reach the waterline and quickly apply it from the outer to inner corner.

Same goes for the top waterline—pull the upper lid up and add the black pencil eyeliner from the outer to inner corner.

Step 3: Apply Black Eyeshadow to the Waterline

To get a bit more longevity out of the eyeliner application, add a bit of black eyeshadow to set the pencil liner. You can use a flat small eyeshadow brush to place it on top of the liner.

It’s important to be careful around your eyes; don’t use too much eyeshadow.

Step 4: Add Mascara & Lipstick

To finish the look and make your eyes pop, add a bit of mascara and lipstick, and you’re ready to go!
