Primer is considered an extra step in makeup application. Some makeup artists like it, some don’t. It acts as a barrier to prevent facial oil from degrading makeup, and works differently for various skin types.
It can also help create a smooth base for easier foundation or powder application. Here are some of the most popular options:
• Gel and Mattifying Primers. These options are great if you want a matte look that lasts all day. Oily skin types will benefit from these products.
• Oil-Based Primers. Best-suited for dry skin types, to which they lend a subtle sheen and glow.
• Cream Primers. These are known as universal primers that are ideal for all skin types. Be wary when choosing one, though, since some primers contain silicone, which is known to aggravate acne-prone skin.
Finish the result with a gorgeous makeup look:
Thank you,
xoxo, Melissa
