This might be not a typical Christmas eye makeup look because it doesn’t have the red and green in it, but I still believe that the colors beautifully look like cinnamon which is very popular during the Christmas season as well. I guess it is a Christmas eye makeup look and people can actually wear it for Christmas if they are going to events or spending the time with their families.
It’s been some time since I last wrote a makeup tutorial as an article and so, I thought now it’s the perfect time to write it (:
So, let’s start with the first shade – shall we? (:
Step 1: Add Shadow To The Crease.
A few days ago, I did a review on the Hoola bronzer from Benefit Cosmetic, and I really love the shade of it that I thought, I could add it to the crease.
Take a fluffy blending brush and use a light, warmish brown shadow. It could be a bronzer as well if you have one. This shadow must be a matte one because then it will work for every eye shape.
Blend this shade through the crease, from the left to the right until you reach the degree of color you want to get. Do not only blend it through the crease but a bit higher as well so, that when you open your eyes and look straight ahead the shadow will show up.
Step 2: Same Shadow, Lower Lash Line.
Using the same matte brown shadow and apply it on the lower lash line as well. You can use the same blending brush from before, or you can use a flat eyeshadow brush and then apply it to the lower lash line. The shadow shouldn't be too harsh, keep it smooth and smoked.
Connect the lower lash line part with the upper crease shade so, that you basically wrap up the eye with the same shadow.
Step 3: Let’s Add Orange.
Going into a matte pumpkin orange and basically repeat step 1 and 2 again. You can use a smaller blending brush to keep the focus a bit more intense in the crease rather than blending it out too far!
Keep the orange shadow on the lower lash line very close to the lashes, and you can apply it with a flat eyeshadow brush as well.
Connect the lower lash line with the upper part again, but the brown and orange shadow should both be still visible.
Step 4: Dark Brown.
Add a matte dark brown shadow in the outer corner of your eyelid and keep the focus at the outer edge. Apply it either with a stiffer rounded eyeshadow brush or with a smaller flat eyeshadow brush and blend it just a bit towards the mid-section on the eyelid.
Also, make sure that you are blending that dark brown shadow into the orange so that it’s smooth and blended.
Step 5: Same Shadow.
Either use the same brush or a smaller one and apply it to the lower lash line, close to the lashes. Keep the focus at the outer corner and connect the lower lash line again with the upper part.
Step 6: Golden/Bronzed Shadows.
Time for some shimmer!
I used the golden and bronzed shimmer shades together and applied it over the main lid area with my finger. Start from the inner corner and press and blend it well over the eyelid area until you reach the dark matte brown shadow.
Of course, blend the shimmers and the matte brown together to get rid of a harsh line.
Step 7: Eyeliner Pencil.
Add some black or brown eyeliner pencil on the lower and upper waterline but only add it to the outer corner portion.
Step 8: Liquid Eyeshadow.
This is optional!
You can add on top of the gold/bronzed shimmer some glitter liquid eyeshadow and only apply it towards the inner corner and blend it into the shimmers with your fingers for a bit more of an extra look.
Step 9: Add Highlighter.
Add a really nice highlighter that suits your skin tone and will stand out at the same time in the inner corner of your eye and under the brows.
You can use your finger or a small eyeshadow brush to apply it. If the highlighter doesn't show off as much as you like too, try to use a bit of setting spray on the brush and try again (:
Step 10: Mascara.
To finish off the eye makeup look, add a few coats of your favorite mascara to your lashes and rock the look for Christmas (:
This is the end result, but you could add some false lashes as well if you prefer so (:
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Thank you,
xoxo, Melissa
