A lot of people are sensitive to many types of foundations. When they wear this type of makeup, they end up with breakouts, rashes, and dry patches.
If you want to make sure your skin looks and feels its best, you might want to try a mineral powder foundation.
Mineral makeup is safe for most people. It provides great coverage and allows the skin to breathe, which keeps it healthy.
How do you apply this special kind of foundation?
Tools You’ll Need to Apply Your Mineral Powder Flawlessly
To start, make sure you have the tools you need to perfectly apply your mineral foundation.
• Mineral Powder Foundation
• Foundation/kabuki brush
• Concealer and Brush/Sponge or Finger
• Bronzer/Blush and Brushes.
How to Apply Mineral Powder Foundation
Now, here’s how to apply your mineral powder for fresh, luminous skin with great coverage.
Start with a Clean Face
As always, you need to start with a clean base. Cleanse your skin, use a toner, and finish up with your moisturizer.
Use the Concealer First
When you use mineral powder, you won’t apply foundation first like you do with “normal” foundations and concealers. In this case, you’ll apply the concealer first. Use the small brush to “spot-treat” pimples, red areas, or under-eye circles. Don’t forget to set it with setting powder to make sure that it stays put.
Move onto the Foundation
Pour (or tap, if your foundation container has a shaker-like top) a small amount of the mineral foundation powder into the lid of the container.
Swirl your foundation or kabuki brush into the foundation. Then, tap off any excess back into the lid to use later.
Using a gentle, circular motion, buff the foundation onto your skin, starting with the outer areas of your face and moving toward the center. Apply the foundation to all areas of your face, including your eyelids and nose.
Repeat as often as you like, tapping/pouring more powder into the lid as needed. The more you apply, the more coverage you will get. Make sure to gently but thoroughly buff the powder onto your skin to get an even application.
Finish with Blush or Bronzer
You can use the same technique as you did with the foundation, pour some mineral blush/bronzer into the lid, swirl with your brush, tap off the excess, and apply with gentle, even strokes wherever you want some extra color.
Or use regular powder blush and bronzer and apply it gently and evenly over your face where you want to highlight and bring warmth to your features.
Mineral makeup is great for your skin – especially if you’re sensitive to other types of foundation. Practice applying this type of foundation, and you’ll quickly learn how much you’ll need and how well you’ll have to buff to get even, beautiful coverage.
