The Era for new battery has emerged, replacement for Li-ion batteries with the graphene based batteries that will be five times more life lasting than the traditional Li-ion ones and less dangerous too.

About Graphene

• Graphene is type of carbon allotrope consists of planar sheets in two dimensional structure which are one layer thick and the atoms arranged in a hexagonal structure, honeycomb-shaped lattice.

  • It is single layer thin but can be manipulated by using hands, the working is also possible within a great range fields.

  • It is much thinner and transparent and optically stable material available.

  • It is good conductor of electricity and heat.

  • It is about two hundred times stronger than modern day steel and nearly transparent.

  • It is Impermeable to GASES and other solvents and solute.

Applications of Graphene*

It can be used as coatings and coating Paints, best possible lubricants, oils and functional fluids, capacitors and batteries in electronics , thermal management applications, display board materials and packaging, solar penals, inks in 3D-printers’ materials and photographic films etc.

Cost of graphene batteries.

Despite the higher upfront cost of lithium-ion batteries, the true cost of ownership is far less than lead acid when considering life span and performance.

Environmental Impact:

Lithium-ion batteries is a technology, a much cleaner and aslo safer for the sustainable environment for future races.

Common Utilization of Li-ion battery will be in

  • medical devices like Pacemakers,
  • modern digital cameras,
  • latest cutting edge Smartphones,
  • modern Solar Power Storage,
  • battery backup systems to prevent power cut offs ,
  • Rocket launcher etc.

So the graphene is providing the replacement for almost everything utilized in modern day electronics and digital world.
