It may seem like I'm moving at a snail's pace, but the truth is that every day I do at least one practice or exercise on the Duolingo app. I have now been practicing English for 93 days straight using this interesting app, which has helped me greatly to improve my existing knowledge and, of course, to acquire new knowledge of this language that is essential for our development in the world. I recently reached level 40, which is still within the A2 CEFR level. This means that I can hold simple conversations with native English speakers, but it is certainly important that I continue to progress.
As far as these levels are concerned, I need to reach level B1 CEFR, which would undoubtedly represent a significant leap in my knowledge and understanding of spoken English. To do so, I need to improve my score by 20 levels from here in order to get there. I must say that it is not an easy task, considering that 20 levels in the score are not achieved overnight, and even less so at the pace I am going. However, I would say that this is the main goal for me in this application. Of course, reaching level 60, which would give me CEFR level B1, is not enough. There are many more levels to pass that would give me greater knowledge.
I have no doubt that I will reach those levels sooner or later. In addition to using the Duolingo app, I also practice my English by watching subtitled series and movies, but I try not to read the subtitles. In other words, I try to understand as much of the English dialogue as I can, and I usually understand a large percentage of it. We must understand that the Duolingo app is not necessarily an accurate gauge of our knowledge. I would say that direct practice is what can give us an idea of where we are. So, understanding a large percentage of the dialogues in movies and series is an indication for me that I'm not doing too badly and that I'm gradually improving.
I must also acknowledge that the time I have spent practicing with Duolingo has also helped me improve my comprehension in terms of understanding, grammar, and speaking. I understand that there are other tools powered by artificial intelligence that can also help me improve and even accelerate my understanding of English. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm sure they are quite advanced.
I haven't tried any of these AI apps yet due to lack of time. But my wife has been researching them and has told me that they are even more effective and efficient than Duolingo itself. Maybe one of these days I'll try it and share my results and impressions of what it would be like to try one of these apps on this blockchain. I have no doubt that nowadays tools are becoming more effective, more direct, faster, and smarter when it comes to teaching us languages and even other academic areas. From now on, I will continue to share my daily practices for learning English. I am sure that every little exercise, every example, every activity, leaves me with something interesting to learn about English. I feel that it is a language in which the little things are very important. It was a pleasure to share. See you soon.
