Hoy les traemos otra reparación, en este caso un cambio de display de un móvil Oppo A38. A la cliente se le cayó, apenas un pequeño cuarteado en el display bastó para dañarlo, que se regara la tinta e incluso dejará de funcionar el táctil.

Today we bring you another repair, in this case, a display replacement on an Oppo A38 mobile phone. The customer dropped it, and even a small crack in the display was enough to damage it, causing the ink to spread and even making the touch stop working.

En el taller hemos visto de todo tipo de casos, incluso teléfonos con el touch muy quebrado y que funcionan a la perfección, y otros que con un pequeño rasguño ya dejan de trabajar o se ponen muy inestables.

In the workshop, we have seen all kinds of cases, including phones with very cracked touchscreens that work perfectly, and others that stop working or become very unstable with just a small scratch.

Aquí no haremos diagnóstico, sabemos claramente que la solución es cambiar el display por el estado en que se ve, con la tinta regada y el touch sin trabajar. Así que vamos a la reparación.

1-Lo primero que haremos será desarmar el equipo. Sacaremos la bandeja SIM, y con una placa muy delgada de radiografía, con ayuda de alcohol isopropílico, retiraremos la tapa trasera. En este modelo, hay una tapa trasera pegada. Luego de retirarla, entonces es que destornillamos y quitamos el marco que cubre la board principal y la Subboard.

1-First, we will disassemble the device. We will remove the SIM tray, and using a very thin X-ray film and isopropyl alcohol, we will remove the back cover. On this model, the back cover is glued. After removing it, we then unscrew and remove the frame that covers the main board and the Subboard.

3-Next, we disconnect the display flex and proceed to remove the damaged display. In this case, it is already slightly detached, so we save ourselves the trouble of applying heat. We insert a small piece of X-ray film, just as we did when removing the back cover. We slide it underneath and finally remove the display.

4-Tenemos ahora que limpiar el marco donde se apoyará la nueva pantalla. Al retirar el display viejo, siempre quedan restos de antiguo pegamento. Haremos una prueba con el display nuevo sin pegarlo. Lo colocamos, conectamos el flex, encendemos el equipo y lo manipulamos durante unos 5 minutos hasta corroborar que está bueno. Como comprobamos que está correcto, lo retiramos.

4-Now we have to clean the frame where the new screen will be placed. When removing the old display, there are always some remnants of the old adhesive left behind. We will test the new display without gluing it. We place it, connect the flex, turn on the device, and use it for about 5 minutes until we confirm that it is working properly. Once we verify that everything is correct, we remove it.

5-Seguido, aplicamos el nuevo adhesivo, usaremos T-7000, que es un pegamento negro especial para montar pantallas. Siempre teniendo cuidado de no aplicar en la parte superior donde se ubican los sensores.

5-Next, we apply the new adhesive. We will use T-7000, which is a black adhesive specially designed for installing screens. We must always be careful not to apply it to the upper part where the sensors are located.

6-Todo está listo ya, colocamos la nueva pantalla. Aunque nuestro teléfono es un Oppo A38, le colocaremos un display de un Oppo A17, pues son totalmente compatibles. Conectamos el flex, colocamos unas pequeñas ligas alrededor de la pantalla para que ejerzan una pequeña presión al display y se apoye correctamente sobre el marco. Entonces hacemos una segunda prueba, volvemos a encender y lo manipulamos una vez más para estar seguros de que al pegarse no hubo ningún daño. 6-Everything is now ready, so we install the new screen. Although our phone is an Oppo A38, we will install an Oppo A17 display because they are fully compatible. We connect the flex and place some small rubber bands around the screen so they exert a little pressure on the display and allow it to sit correctly on the frame. Then we perform a second test, turn it on again, and use it once more to make sure that no damage occurred while gluing it. Since we are now sure that everything is working properly, we leave it to rest for about 2 hours so the adhesive can dry properly.

7-Armamos seguidamente el teléfono y entregamos a la cliente. Como siempre, se lo entregamos encendido, y lo manipulamos en frente de la persona para ratificar que el trabajo ha tenido éxito.

7-We then reassemble the phone and deliver it to the customer. As always, we hand it over turned on and operate it in front of the customer to confirm that the repair has been successful.
