La Recría Subunit. Basic Engineering Project: Semi-Permanent Sprinkler Irrigation System / Subunidad la Recría. Proyecto de Ingeniería Básica Sistema de Riego por Aspersión Semiestacionario.
[ENG]
Good morning to the great @stemsocial family and the rest of Hive.
We continue with our basic engineering project on semi-permanent sprinkler irrigation systems for dairy cattle production units. The projects for La Recría and Ternerito 4 are nearing completion. Ternerito 5 was initially going to be included, but the investment department finally decided that it would be carried out at a later stage.
We will now present the Basic Engineering Design for the La Recría Subunit. As mentioned before, the scope includes calculations, a general layout plan, and a list of materials for a subsequent financing proposal.
Unlike the other units, this one is not dedicated to milk production but, as its name indicates, to raising livestock that is gradually incorporated into the existing herd. It is planned to irrigate 7 hectares to ensure a stable supply of animal feed during the dry season, when feed production is greatly affected.
With irrigation, an annual production of approximately 200 tons per hectare is expected, for a total of 1,400 tons.
This would guarantee feed for a herd of 150 to 170 animals throughout the year. It should be noted that, since this is a rearing unit, the animals are much younger and have a lower average weight, and therefore consume less feed.
Here, we proceed just as in the previous cases. Once again, we will use WaterGEMS to perform the hydraulic calculations. Using the geomatics data as a base, we save it in DXF format, import it into WaterGEMS, and draw our network on that base. Once the network has been drawn, we automatically assign elevations to the nodes using WaterGEMS' own TREX tool, and finally perform the calculations.
After calculating the entire network, we export it directly from WaterGEMS in DXF format, open AutoCAD, load the file, and make the final adjustments: we assign a layout and title block, readjust the text, create the legend, add the north arrow, and continue until we have prepared the final plan to be printed and delivered to the client.
DESCRIPTION
7 hectares under irrigation: one 4-hectare system whose water source is a well, one 2-hectare system, and another 1-hectare system, both of which also draw water from a well.
Maximum water consumption: 9.5 L/s.
Two pumping stations with submersible electric pumps: Q = 5.5 L/s, H = 42 m, P = 3.1 kW, and Q = 4 L/s, H = 43 m, P = 2.3 kW.
PEAD Ø 90 and 75 mm PN-6 conveyance pipes.
PEAD Ø 75 mm PN-6 distribution pipes.
PEAD Ø 50 mm PN-6 (PE-80) irrigation laterals.
Sprinklers with Q = 0.22 L/s and H = 24 m.
Hydrants.
In this case, submersible pumps were used, taking into account that the water sources are wells.
