The transaction fee was introduced because of the penis photos posted right after the launch... Basically people couldn't see anything except those photos due to various bugs in the front-end...

I couldn't do anything with my account because I didn't have any liquid funds... lol... I had to buy some BLURT and then power down most of my BP...
