All it takes is one piece of unsubstantiated news. I will not say fake. I do not know. Which is the point. I DO NOT KNOW. But nobody else does as well. Specially not the majority on the internet, some of which just read a bit of he-said-that-he-heard-she-saying-about-him etc. and the rest just being inspired by these people comments and posts.
I abhor such people.
But I am highly curious as well. Because it is such a vast torrent of negativity that boils up that it can’t all be led by ignorance. I have two questions for these people.
There are two type of people who will read this. One type is currently going this guy makes sense and yes i agree with him. And the other one has either already dismissed the rhetoric or are just itching to post something negative about it.
Now ask yourself which one are you. Cause if you are the latter then yes sir/ma’am you are the problem in today’s internet age. Please don’t mind. But seriously, you are. Why do you do it? On the fake and the unsubstantiated. Why pass the judgement without evidence.
If you think that your social media voice is free, it is not. Is is extremely valuable. You should preserve it. People should value it. If you think you do just because you can, then there are a lot of things that we can do but we don’t. Not only because they are unlawful but also because they are not right.
In India we don’t call our elders by their first name. Not because we can’t but because we are taught not to. We don’t say half the things in public to someone’s face that we so blatantly write online. For a thing to be wrong it doesn’t have to be illegal and something that is easy isn’t always right.
And for the people that gain some perverse pleasure in seeing a person squirm under public outcry (without really caring what they might be doing to this person if he’s actually innocent or not all that bad), I really don’t have anything to say. That minority’s teachings I leave to their parents and peers.
For the others- Don’t get me wrong, we need the mass voices on internet more than ever. It is a platform of public opinion and change. All i want, all I plead is for you to value your voice. Value it enough to know that when you post about something, you are in the right. Just give two min more of your time to your tweet and see whether the ‘news’ you are posting about is actually true. Whether the allegation has actually been proven. Whether the things have actually been said.
It is your voice, please value it. It’s needed, more than ever.
