Hello friends,
How are you? I hope everything is alright.
It was the month of November. There was bitter cold everywhere. We gathered dry leaves and straw to make fire with them. We sat round the fire and warmed ourselves. We drank date Juice with straw made of jute stick. Some times we sat together beside the pond on mats made by date leaves. We enjoyed winter cakes. My mother used to make pitha/ cakes with rice flour. It was mixed with date Juice and milk. It is very delicious to eat. We had around twenty five date trees. In the morning we got seven to nine jars of date Juice. Molasses was made with the Juice. But it's a matter of great regret that those date trees are no longer exist. That has gone to the river Joyontee. River erosion has taken our home. We have made a new house but there is not enough space to plant that type of trees. Besides now a days people aren't willing to collect date Juice because it's a very difficult job. It's now only memory. In some areas still people plant date trees and get Juice.
This happened long fifty five years ago. But it's seems to me, it happened few days before.
Okey friends. Wish you the best of luck. Bye Bye to
