There are many ways to help victims of sexual abuse. One of the best ways is to become a listener, not a judge of what they experience. Doubting or blaming the victim for what they are experiencing is one form of error that can make them feel worse. Listen carefully and say that you believe what they say.
If there are people around you who are sexually abused, give them moral support and help them find their voice. Invite them to seek professional help from doctors, therapists, lawyers or police for further treatment. You must be brave to go forward and be a witness when the victim decides to oversee the legal path and escort them while in the recovery phase.
Hearing the people closest to us experiencing sexual abuse is a terrible thing, but we all have to be strong for victims. When they are fragile because of the events they experience, we must be strong people and find ways to help victims of sexual abuse come out of the trauma they experience. Let's fight sexual violence!
