I hope you do get the chance. If I go again I want to explore the area north of Tokyo, preferably the mountains and coast of the northeast. I can't seem to get enough of the shrines and temples, even the smaller local ones. It helps to be married to someone who grew up there and can read the signs! I'd probably be lost on my own.
