@sjarvie5 - Thank you. Well they wanted a piece in my cubist-Picasso-esque style, so that was the goal for this portrait. His daughters are beautiful and have done some modeling, so I didn't want to make them heavy or grotesque looking. That's why I started with a close likeness, and then moved things around in a playful way that didn't take them too far out of context. Years ago I commissioned a family portrait to be done by Alden Mason, a well-known Northwest painter. But his work is wild crazy, so being a portrait doesn't really mean much. We didn't expect a likeness of any kind! haha I did ask Alden if he wanted a photo of us to work from, but he looked at me a little funny as if to say "you've got to be kidding." The portrait turned out well.
