I thought I would try something a little different with the water bead heart pour. Sometimes trying new things give awesome results and other times it鈥檚 nope I don鈥檛 need to try that again.

I wanted to try and get a full heart that had even more texture all the way through it. So I decided to full cast it in the flask and pour into the top.

I needed to make the pour hole larger than usual. I had to be able to push each water bead into the mold one at a time until it was full. Once it was full it was time to pour.

I was a bit concerned I would get a volcano effect because the hole was so large.
Let鈥檚 see what happened. It started good but..

As soon as the silver was all in the mold it began to shoot out silver balls and I even had a water bead pop out.

In the picture it looks like the cord caught on fire but it was just the angle of the picture luckily for me. No furnaces were harmed during this pour. 馃榾

I ended up with a solid bottom half of a heart and a big old sprue. Needless to say this was melted. You can't win them all but if you don鈥檛 try you can鈥檛 win.
