Good evening everyone. I got my Provident order today. Of course, there was melt silver in the box but there was one more thing in there just for me! I have seen others show this off and I really wanted one. It’s a 2018 Australia 1ozt Dragon Coin Bar. Feels weird saying a coin bar but that is what it is.
Let’s start with the facts.
1ozt of .9999 fine silver
Minted by Perth Mint. This is their first rectangular coin.
It’s a limited mintage of 500,000
The coin is backed by the Australian government
Obverse-
Features Queen Elisabeth II along with the weight, purity, year and denomination. I like how the background is a frosted or dull finish but Elizabeth II and some of the wording is shiny.
Reverse-
Features a Chinese lunar dragon chasing a flaming pearl. The background has a frosted like finish, while the dragon and pearl are shiny. The background is very detailed with designs depicting the water, clouds and wind. The Perth Mint “P” mark is on the middle right side in a cloud.
