Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) can develop quietly, with little to no warning, making it one of the more dangerous vascular conditions. When a blood clot forms in a deep vein, usually in the legs it blocks normal blood flow. While it may seem harmless at first, if left untreated, the clot can break and travel to the lungs, causing a life-threatening condition known as a pulmonary embolism.
