Hi steemians. I hope you'll enjoy this poetry. It's really good to be here again.

Does anyone truly like their own appearance? I feel like a haggard old wreck with revolting teeth, a protruding belly, skinny legs and the beginning of facial hair on my lip, and two hairs on my chin. That's what I look like and it is the truth.

I also look like my profile picture because that is who I am. I remove the new hairs that are invading my lip and chin, and to be fair, they are just the same hair follicles who decided to sprout, but in my endeavours to control them, I merely made them look worse.

As for my teeth, they are an utter disaster, my own fault for smoking and discolouring them through nicotine. The skinny legs I blame my dad for, I am his size and shape, but I wear them with pride for being his daughter.

My protruding belly is probably a mixture of my fondness for a few cans of beer and not enough stomach crunches; I will tell you what, I don't care, they hurt like fuck.

I am me, I look like my picture because it would be hard to look like anything else. I keep my mouth closed for smiling ( not for talking, I never shut up! ), because my teeth embarrass me .

I dye my hair, I am not ready to go grey but by god I can see my wrinkles. It doesn't matter, it is unimportant. What you are inside is what matters, not your exterior shell.

Looks are merely a perception.
