If dogs don’t like your dog food, the packaging doesn’t matter… Stephen Denny
Milton Hershey said ‘give them quality. That’s the best kind of advertising’.
Everybody loves to get the best available and to get that best at a cost that is generally a stable price makes it a win for any customer. So aiming for quality gives you an edge over your competitors. Remember that your customers may also be dealing with others who are their customers. This means that they need you to do a perfect job for them, which in turn they would present that job to their own customers. For example; a photographer requires the photographic laboratory to give him quality prints or a building contractor requires that the building firm do a good job for his client - the land owner. If your services are poor, it would discourage them to ask your services.
Moreover, some people demand extremely perfect jobs because they do not have strong marketing skills to sell their products if it becomes slightly defective. Thus such customers desire to be given quality services so that they can they can have it smooth with their own customers.
Therefore as an entrepreneur, quality is a virtue you must never compromise.
Another subtle form of quality is the ability to produce unique things that your customers may easily appreciate. This involves understanding the customer so well that the product and service fits him and the product naturally sells itself. Seek to look at where there is a need and then produce in that direction, this would give you the opportunity to set the standard, thus giving you the right to dictate the market to your taste.
Don't settle for less, aim for quality!
