You are absolutely right in saying that if we see a degree only as a ticket to a job, we lose its true value. In fact a degree gives us a foundation that is useful in every step of life. As you said even by learning a small rule and we can solve big problems later. Certificates are just proof but the real power is the knowledge and experience learned which changes our thinking and lifestyle.
