What's up? It's ya boi

Yeah, it's been a while. So long, in fact, that Steem got taken over by some jerkwad, and here I am reintroducing myself to all you fine people. So, like a spider person tossed into a new world, 'let's take it from the top.'

That's me

I'm an English teacher by trade, hence the username. The name was a nickname given to me by my Korean boys from years ago when I first started posting on Steem. Other nicknames I have gone by include; Mr. Dice, Mr. Biceps, Sautaytay, Captain America, Bromerica, Billy, etc. You can refer to me however you like I'm sure I will have many more names before leaving this Earth.

What was I up to when I was active?

When I was active on Steem many moons ago (you can see how I attempted to come back a couple of times, ha), I posted a lot about travel, teaching, and photography. I was also pretty active in the various sub-communities about photography and creative writing. Hoping to get back into some more communities as I navigate hive and work on my blog again. Also, I recommend some of my old post about the festivals in Korea if that interest you, most information should still be relevant.

Why the hiatus?

Well, I came back to America in 2019 and found out my experience teaching abroad was valued in schools here about as much as driving license off of a cereal box. Got into various complications in life and ended up working in a kitchen again, substituting in a preschool, and various gig jobs to make ends meet. Then the pandemic hit, and as we all know, it wasn't fun for anyone (except Bezos and musk). I moved out of my bad living situation, some family let me crash on their couch until I got a job out in Washington State. Started cooking that really sucked during this pandemic, so I started working with my brother as a mover.

It's been a very complicated two years, but things have been on the up and up!

Why come back?

I really enjoyed blogging. It was a good release, and I can't wait to get back into traveling and recording the memories for myself, and if it entertains or educates others, the better! After spending about half a year trying to get into China, I decided to go back to Korea to teach at a different school, in a different city, in a different region. With that and getting my vaccine finally, I decided to look into my steem account. Oh boy, I did not know what happened until about oh, 36 hours ago roughly. At least the transfer to Hive was easy, and it makes me feel more confident and excited to start again!!

What can you expect from me now?

The last time I did this, I'll admit, I went a little too hard and burned myself out. So I am gonna start slow and work myself up. It's gonna take time and planning to reach my goals here. If you want to scroll through some of my posts from three years ago, I'm hoping to bring back a lot of that kind of content (except movie/trailer reviews).

I want to do some basic life update stuff each week to start out. I also want to incorporate some English lessons once I'm back into my teaching groove and do a weekly little five ten-minute lessons video a week and see how that goes over. Cooking honestly is another idea I have had that I'd be interested in playing with. Travel is a big yes, along with photography and practicing my Korean on here. Lastly, I wanna do a letsplay posting of a game every once in a while and see where that goes; I got into twitch for a minute, and if there is a streaming service that is a hive/twitch hybrid, please let me know!

It Already feels good to be a part of the Hive!

I'm gonna start posting once a week and just get caught up with Hive and all the crypto again. Glad to be here, and I hope to make many friends along the way!

Until then as always,
Ride On!
