Too bad about the endgame boredom the idea of building a dyson sphere sound interesting, maybe the game would need some enemies or antagonist to spice up things?
On this note have you tried Frostpunk? The tropes seems really similar to this though you have the cold as an adversary, I keep looking at it but I have never bought it
