If it were not so
That saints and angels
Bow before His Throne,
And shield their gaze
From a glory so divine,
It would but for
His grace consume them;
If it were not so,
Why, then,
This yearning
Of my heart at sight
Of His Old Rugged Cross
And Him thereon,
Within the whispers
Of His sanctuary?
