Hello everyone,

How did this start? Yeah it all started with me doing a giveaway for anyone who wanted a revamped profile picture. It was on twitter, the tweet wAs largely unseen or there was not much active engagement so after two days I decided to take it down and rescind. Because you don’t want to be giving a free gift you’re going to spend your time, mind and energy on and no one is taking it. Saying that sounds terrible I know but also funny. So I changed my mind but then I noticed I hadd tw pseudo responses so I said okay let’s just ennd this and have two default winners.

Fast forward to last Thursday and I finally sat down to get one of the gifts started. I started this portrait yesterday and finished yesterday -

When I first picked up an idea on Thursday I struggled with it. The reference has a shde of light skin I did not know how to render in it’s shades and highlights so I struggled for a bit and also with the general look.

She did not look right in my eyes. So then yesterday I decided to just start over.

Somewhere along the line I convinced myself that I wouldn’t get it done. I think there was more pressure to get it right because this was going out as a gift and I wanted it to be appreciated. After a while things picked up and started to look like I had done a very good job.

Here’s the reference

And because I like to do extra, I gave three options

My moot was very appreciative so it’s well received

That’s really the most important factor that I delivered satisfactorily.
