Following a mysterious disappearance of an LMPS (Lesotho Mounted Police Service) member, Mokalekale Khetheng; who disappeared in March 2015, his body was recovered this week.
He was ungrounded from amongst several corpses that were buried in December last year by the Lesotho Funeral Services, as the deceased who had been kept in the mortuary for over two years without any concern from their families, some of whose bodies could not be identified after they were found dead in accidents and many other causes of death.
The police received a tipoff that Khetheng, who disappeared at the hands of police after he was brought in for questioning, was amongst those buried there.
The recision of the tipoff is highly questionable to many, as it is not understandable how among so many graves one could have known the exact grave number in which Khetheng and two others had been buried.
This comes after lengthily efforts to find this man after he mysteriously disappeared. We have mixed views of this matter, though we are happy that finally he has been found.
However, the political situations attached to his death will definitely bar us from the truth of circumstances pertaining to his death. People from the government out the blame on the opposition while the opposition does the versa.
I wish the truth would come out, that we know when he died, how he died, who killed him and how it came to be that he was buried there.
