The journey on Steemit so far has been a very interesting one for me. My horizon has been immensely broadened by some really great articles from great minds! I have made so many new and amazing friends and that for me is the best part of being on this platform. I sat back and thought about all these amazing friends and was inspired to write this poem. It is part reality and a little fictional.
This poem is dedicated to all my new friends...I love you guys!
Right in the middle of nowhere
In a place where the sun never sets,
You littered my life like stars in the sky.
Now I’m here to tell you that you're amazing.
Weirdly wired, a lover of science,
Cute and shy but not very humble,
Not social yet got Discord locked down,
Hurting so bad for a love story gone bad.
We formed a bond of mutual interest.
And with no strings attached,
We created a beautiful melody.
Alas, it didn't mean the same to you and I.
You wanted this but I wanted that,
Just a sign that it wasn't meant to last.
Now the stars that used to light up the sky,
Have become so bright they hurt my eyes.
The pain isn't enough to keep me away.
What's love without a little pain?
So like the abiding calm of the night sky,
I'll always be there for you to shine.
In life's most challenging moments,
In times of distress and despair,
Through the thick and through the thin,
I will be your friend and will always be there.
