According to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), old N200, N500, and N1,000 bank notes remain legal tender until December 31, 2023.

This was a statement by Isa Abdulmumin, the acting director of corporate communication.

The court ordered the central bank of Nigeria to make sure to pay out both the old and the new naira notes to customers.

The central bank of Nigeria has met with the bankers committee and circulated the old N200, N500, and N1000 notes. They remain legal tender along with the newly redesigned notes until December 31, 2023.

Nigerians are so happy because this really affected everyone in the country; at least there will be money to eat and do business with and no more buying of money.

This has caused the Nigerian currency to lose value; imagine that 1 US dollar coin is now N460, and having 1000 naira will not buy anything. God will see us through.
