Standing atop the historic fortress of Belgrade as the sun begins to set is something that makes one stop for a bit, sit and enjoy the view of the golden color of the sun reflecting on the beautiful Danube river.
It is a truly amazing view that undoubtedly lifts the spirits of everyone lucky enough to see it, as it washes away all the fatigue of the day.
One evening, I found myself doing the same thing. I stopped at a spot to take a moment and appreciate the beauty around me.
Besides a few individuals enjoying the calm silence of the place, a few were caught in their own world, radiating deep emotions that compelled me to have a go at candid portraits using the fading light as the background.
These are some of the shots that capture the very essence of the moment with deep feelings of solitude, companionship, and love for the local folks.
