In the past, Iranians respected all religions. In Iran, there were people of various faiths, and no one was persecuted for their religion, especially during the era of Cyrus the Great.

Even today, various religions exist in Iran—including followers of Mandaeism, whose total global population is perhaps no more than 200,000.

Iranian people do not interfere in each other's beliefs. Although the current Iranian government, which is warmongering, opposes various religions and believes solely in Islam, it still largely leaves Christians and Jews alone.
