Sitting on the bus, headed towards the city of Novi Sad in Serbia, the world outside was just being born. It was a chilly morning and the first signs of day were already starting. Some people had already left their homes and were walking on the streets, waiting for the buses to start their daily routine. Buses and sidewalks became the center of activity.
These moments are dear to my heart as a photographer because of two reasons – beautiful urban landscapes and human interaction. Although old buildings that we admire from the sidewalk are great and unique, they somehow seem to lack a soul when they have no living beings in them. These people in pictures waiting for buses gave the concrete buildings a soul, a background with which they share a common history.
These are some of my favorite moments while exploring foreign cities. The city has a soul that lives in the morning before tourists open their eyes and explore the center.
