This is a butcher鈥檚 shop in one of the local markets in the north of Iran.
My camera picked this one out for me while I was wandering the streets of the day market.
This place is full of contrasts, which makes it impossible not to snap a picture.
This might seem cluttered and dirty to a city dweller, but it is pure gold for a street photographer.
The butcher is leaning against the wall, waiting for customers to arrive.
He does not seem to be in any hurry.
In fact, he is barefoot, probably because it is rather hot that day.
It was a risky endeavor to photograph him because he could have mistreated me for invading his privacy and then chased me away with his meat cleaver! 馃榾
The first time I took a picture, I saw the horns behind his head, and I thought it would be fun to have it in the composition. So, I moved slightly to the left to frame the horn, making it look as if the man were wearing a Viking helmet.
After I finished taking photos, I gave him a smile and a respectful nod.
He remained motionless, watching me the whole time. However, I did not dare to look at him again because I felt there was a good chance he would cut me off as soon as I turned around.
With that, I left him alone and went to take pictures of other interesting things in the market.
Street photography is all about such unique moments that can never be repeated.
