Too many questions… I like seeing people happy, groups of tourists asking anything at any street corner. Havana feels like a punishment cell… not to mention the whole national geography… What would you ask? Where is the shortest street in the city? Is there any urban legend about this or that antique shop? Who wants a beer? Because perhaps we still have time to celebrate something that hasn’t happened… I have nothing to do, I’m killing time. And I’d like to dance and sweat in a disco. Kiss you and yes, damn it, sweat while techno music deafens us. Perhaps you’ll spot me because I carry the map in my hands/ And the backpack that weighs nothing/ And though I want to go unnoticed, in summer afternoons I usually work for a fortune-teller/ That is so striking… the guy in the film says they’re cool people. I also wander around stealing scripts, adapting myself to live my own, in a well-populated solitude, waiting for the download of Bicycle Thieves by Vittorio De Sica, but it seems it will arrive very slow-ly from 1948. Who downloads films in 2026? There’s Netflix, Amazon Firestick and HBO MAX. There were no bullet trains in 1948… and by the way, is it true that Gaudí was killed by a tram? And because of his humble appearance, he was mistaken for a beggar, which delayed his medical care? Why do you think I know so many things? No, I don’t… I barely know five kinds of cheese and right now I’ve spread some cream cheese on a piece of bread. I told you: this is fun. It seems silly, I know… (perhaps not so much), but in just a few hours I’ll have consumed another year of my life and I only want to be here like a teenager, returning again and again in my thoughts to the night we met.

¿Es verdad que hay niños que juegan con burbujas cerca de la Sagrada Familia? ¿Será que los trapecistas y los hombres bala miden 1.67? ¿Te presentarías alguna vez a una audición para trabajar en un circo? Son demasiadas preguntas… Me gusta ver a la gente feliz, a grupos de turistas preguntando cualquier cosa en cualquier esquina. La Habana se siente como una celda de castigo… no digamos toda la geografía nacional… ¿Qué preguntarías tú? ¿Dónde está la calle más corta de la ciudad? ¿Se sabe de alguna leyenda urbana en esa o aquella tienda de anticuarios? ¿Quién quiere una cerveza? Porque quizás estamos a tiempo de celebrar algo que no ha pasado… No tengo nada que hacer, estoy matando el tiempo. Y me gustaría bailar y sudar en una disco. Besarte y sí, carajo, sudar mientras nos ensordece la música tecno. Quizás me descubres porque llevo el mapa entre mis manos/ Y la mochila que no pesa/ Y aunque quiero pasar desapercibida, suelo en las tardes de verano trabajar para un vidente/ Eso es tan llamativo… el chico de la película dice que son gente cool. De cualquier manera… suena divertido. También ando por ahí robando guiones, adaptándome a vivir el mío propio, en una soledad bien concurrida, esperando la descarga de los Ladrones de Bicicletas de Vittorio De Sica, pero parece que va a llegar muy len-ta-men-te desde 1948. ¿Quién descarga películas en 2026? Existen Netflix, Amazon Firestick y HBO MAX. No había trenes bala en 1948… y, a propósito, ¿es verdad que a Gaudí lo mató un tranvía? ¿Y que debido a su aspecto humilde fue confundido con un mendigo lo que retrasó su atención médica? ¿Por qué piensas que sé muchas cosas? No, no las sé… apenas conozco cinco variedades de quesos y justo ahora he untado un poco de queso crema en un trozo de pan. Te lo dije: esto es divertido. Mi mapa siempre me ha llevado a ti… y yo seguiré viendo esta película. Parece tonta, lo sé… (quizás no lo sea tanto), pero en unas pocas horas habré consumido un año más de mi vida y yo solo quiero estar aquí como una adolescente, volviendo una y otra vez en mis pensamientos a la noche en que nos conocimos. ¿Sabes? Me encantan las sopas… hoy hice una. Fue mi almuerzo y ahora terminaré lo que queda en la olla.
