Today I want to introduce you to one of my conuros sol, which has some years with me, living in the best way, I leave a little information about them.
The sun parrot (Aratinga solstitialis), also known as solar parrots, golden parakeets or golden parakeets, is a species of psittaciform bird of the parrot family. It comes from South America, extending from Venezuela, the Guianas and a large part of Brazil.
They eat all kinds of fruits and small seeds, measuring from 17 to 30 cm, weighing around 120 g.
The young specimens show predominantly a greenish plumage (the distinguished yellow, orange and reddish in tail, abdomen and head are obtained with maturity). They do not present sexual dimorphism.
These birds are usually very domestic and tend to breed easily, both in freedom and in captivity. The couple is usually united throughout life. They lay between 3 and 5 eggs, with a 24-day incubation.
