This post for todays Fungi Friday by @ewkaw is about an optical illusion mushroom, kind of, because nestled among the fallen leaves and branches, what appeared to be a cluster of chicken's eggs lay scattered across the forest floor. The "eggs" were creamy white in color, and their smooth, round forms resembled nothing less than the eggs like you'd have in your fridge only that they're not eggs. Turned out those eggs are Langermannia Gigantea, Giant Puffball mushrooms. That's what i could find out so far at least, but i'm no expert so don't take my word for it. If you recognise those big white fungi balls and know the exact name, feel free and correct me by writing it in the comments.

Ok, here's the whole cluster of Puffballs i discovered. While walking and from the corner of my eye they looked like eggs lying there.
Let's get closer and look at some Puffball-Portraits, shall we?!
Not quite as smooth up close as they first appeared.
And pretty dirty as well.
This one looks like a light bulb from that angle.
Ok, thatβs it for today, enough Giant Puffballs for now. I hope you like these egg like fungi photos and leave a vote or maybe even reblog this post. Looking forward to see you come back for more fungi shots, bye.
