This post for todays Fungi Friday is about a mushroom I found on the same tree where I found the mushroom with the spider web roof i posted about the last time. The day i found it i thought it was fully developed, but little did i know, because afew days later when i passed by there again i realized it was in the middle of growing the other day. Therefore i have two sets of photos to enjoy this time, one set with a big fluffy egg shaped fungi and one with the fully grown lamellar fungus. I couldn't find out who he is and what his name is other than Big Fluffy so i hope, as always, some of you recognizes the fungi and knows it's name to feel free and tell me in the comments.

Fungi are found in nearly every habitat and play important roles in the carbon and nutrient cycles, as well as forming mutualistic relationships with plants and animals.

Ok, let‘s check out the photos.
Here‘s the first shot of Big Fluffy from the angle i discovered him.

Let's look a little closer, shall we?! Could be a big furry nose also.

And last but not least here's a profile shot of the fluffy one where we can see very well how it's growing out of the tree trunk.

Let's take a look at the second set of photos from the next day i passed by that tree and, et voila, there's the grown and still somewhat fluffy big one right there. Would you have recognized him as the fluffy one from the last time?

The profile view where you can already guess that this is a lamellar fungi.

Did i mention that this fella was growing pretty low to the ground. Wasn't too easy to get a shot of his lamellae.

And now two closeups of the hat' structure and the ripped part on the side of the tree to conclude the excursion.
