SteemConnect is a tool built by @steemit and
@busy.org to help apps access your Steem account securely and easily. You've probably seen it at work when:
SteemConnect is used by apps such as MinnowBooster, Busy.org, and even Utopian to access your Steem Blockchain account without forcing you to hand over private information such as your private keys. However, currently it isn't very easy to handle actions such as editing an app's permissions or revoking permissions.
In order to retract delegation, edit permissions, or revoke an app, you have to create your own specialized link, then visit that link. For example, below is the link to undelegate power from an account randomperson:
https://v2.steemconnect.com/sign/undelegate-vesting-shares?delegatee=randompersonRather than forming these links on the fly and testing them out, it would be easier if there were control panels on the SteemConnect.com website where we could easily perform such actions.
Below is an example graphic I created for a possible apps/permissions control panel:
In my design, all you have to do is visit the Apps and Permissions panel in the website. You're then presented with an overview of every app you've given permissions/power to. If you want to edit an app's permissions or add more permissions, you can click the yellow Edit button next to the app's logo.
If you want to delete an app from your panel and revoke all permissions, you can press the red Revoke button next to the app. Below these buttons and the app logo is a list of all the permissions the app has, such as "Post, Vote, Comment."
The last section would be a "Get More Apps!" call-to-action prompting the user to check out more apps in the SteemConnect store.
The next control panel would be a delegation center where the user could easily control delegations. They could see all incoming/outgoing delegations, and add more if wanted.
Below is an example graphic I created for a possible delegation center panel:
At the top of my example is a tool allowing you to quickly delegate Steem Power (SP) or Vests to any other user/account. You can fill out the fields to set the receiving user and the SP amount, then press Confirm to quickly secure your transaction with SteemConnect.
The orange text in the delegation tool allows you to see how your delegation would affect you and the other account, by seeing how your vote worth and SP would change, and how their vote worth and SP would change.
At the bottom could be a quick overview of the delegations you're receiving and the ones you're giving out. Another added feature could be the possibility to quickly revoke outgoing delegations from that panel.
Though these are just mock-ups of how these panels could look like, it would be great if SteemConnect added control panels for permissions and delegations similar to these.
